Hello! Happy Thursday!
Today in Math, we explored the Collatz Conjecture.
(A conjecture is an inference formed without proof or sufficient evidence.)
The Collatz Conjecture works like this:
- Choose any whole number.
- If it's an even number, divide by 2.
If it's an odd number, multiply by 3 and add 1.
- Continue this process until your sequence ends.
- Choose another number and create the sequence.
- What do you notice? What do you think will happen?
-What conjecture do you have?
(Learn more about the Collatz Conjecture HERE.)
Please ask me about the Collatz Conjecture. What numbers did my group and I choose? What did we notice?

For our next activity, we had a special guest. Mme Champagne!
She introduced us a to new French routine, Recréer la pose. (Strike a pose).
How it works :
- a volunteer comes up to the front and CANNOT look behind them
- a photo of a model pose is then projected on the screen behind them
- students must give verbal directions (no actions) to have the student recreated the pose
- at the end, we compare to see how we did!
Mme Champagne was our first model!
Strike a pose!
How did we do?
We look forward to continuing this fun routine in the spring!

Finally, today's Spirit Day was "Rhyme Time."
