Photo mystère! Math + Art

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

Today in Math we began applying our knowledge of coordinates and the cartesian plane to create a picture. What is the picture of? Mystery!

We were provided with a list of coordinates to draw onto our graph paper and are connecting the coordinates as we go (like a dot-to-dot activity).

Once all 'dots' have been placed and connected, the mystery picture will be revealed!

We will have a chance to colour the final pictures before Mme displays them on the bulletin board in our classroom.

Stay tuned to see what Math pictures we create!

AGENDA

1. "Thinking Homework" - Today in Français we shared some of our goals for the year. So many great things to work on! Our thinking homework for tonight: Continue thinking about what goals I would like to work on this year? What items would be a part of my action plan? Please be ready to share more ideas with the class tomorrow.

2. Netmath - intro lesson and 2 'books' - tomorrow (Thursday)
See yesterday's post for log in information.

3. Spend some time reading this week! ebookids.com is a great site that offers a variety of French stories as well as audio books. Setting aside 10-15 minutes for French reading will have a huge impact on French language development.

4. Cinémental permission forms were sent home last week and are due back ASAP.

5. If you have not already done so, please ensure you have a pair of headphones here at school. We will be using the laptops for different reading and math activities and having headphones will allow students to better focus on their own work and allow for a calmer learning environment as a whole.

6. The Casse-croute is open for business! Every Tuesday and Thursday students will have the opportunity to purchase a snack to enjoy along with their lunch. The casse-croute is cash only. Please see the menu that was sent home in Friday's "News from the office" for more info. Bon appétit!

7. SOCK-TOBER: In partnership with Ogijiita Pimatiswin Kinamatwin, we (along with all schools in the St James Assiniboia School Division) are collecting donations of socks and mittens this October.
Please bring in new, unopened adult or kid-sized scocks, gloves and mittens from now until October 31.
There are collection bins near all three entrances (6,7 and 8).
Please donate as you are able. Thank you!
