Hello! Happy Monday!
Today in Math we were busy with so many things!
- We explored a new (for some of us) classroom starter routine, "Splats!", that gave us an introduction to improper and mixed number fractions.
- We worked through another decimal-multiplication question using paper versions of the base-ten blocks (and Mme challenged many of us to work in reverse and divide our answer once we found it)!
- We worked with our table groups to match up pictures, fractions, decimal numbers and percents.
- We finished with a short independent work block, completing different fraction-decimal-percent questions.
Coming up in Math this week:
- More decimal multiplication questions, with an introduction to using pictures and then symbols (algorithm) and mental math strategies.
- a division facts check-in (see Thursday's post for some online game options!)
- a fun Name activity, that connects our names with Math!
